WHY TEACH

Why You Join Teaching
You went for the interview, they asked you why you want to teach. Teaching is so stressful, why you want to teach? You give your reasons and you wait for their answers. You are given teaching position later. You might have not taught before. But you joined because of the pay, just like any other profession. You might also join because you really love teaching. Whichever group you are, you know yourself better.

Love Teaching
LOVE children
No Office Politics
Some people join teaching because they are tired of office politics. And now with news that teaching is going to offer higher pay rise, more people are going to squeeze through the door. Pay increment going to be according to your performance. Good and bad. People who care about the monthly sure paycheck would probably need to take teaching seriously. How do they determine the performance of the teachers than? Are parents' feedback going to take into considerations or is it going to be students' academic results again? If the latter is the case, then life is going to be hard. How is the appraisal done? Will the principal be fair in giving appraisal? There are going to be politics. But that is not my concern, but it definitely will affect teaching indirectly and my children in the hands of teachers.

Half-Day Teaching or Short-working day you might think
Money - GOOD MONEY : Metal-Rice Bowl??
STRESS or NO STRESS?
If all is results, teachers would spend more time teaching the "TESTed" subjects. Music, Health Education, Social Studies and Arts are going to be 'neglected'. My children told me, 'always no music' or 'moral education not taught'. Such was the case when I was teaching too. As teachers, there are so many things to teach and how do you compare teachers' performance? Logically, the students' results. There were syllabus to finish, there were so many things to teach, but so little time with the students. Sometimes, the teachers have to 'steal' time from the 'not so important' subjects. Which are the 'not so important' subjects? That would be the non-examinable subjects. But they are essential topics that students must learn too. But what can the teacher do? The teachers have to teach, to handle disciplinary actions, to do duties, to mark books and any other added duties as assigned. Back home, the teacher needs to spend time with family. Single teachers go 'Pak tor'(dating), married teachers attend to families. Many times you need to bring your work back, otherwise you need to stay longer in school to complete your job. You need to prepare for your lessons as well. Nothing is easy if you want to do well in any profession. Do not just join teaching for easy paycheck and pay increment.

As always the case, there are always those who are not sure why they want to join, but they will say 'test the water', 'just try', and so on. But when you say just try , just testing out first, please be serious about the children in your hands.

Why You Don't Believe

Recently, I had put up my real photographs of myself on my blog, Peacebella.com. I had been using avatars, a picture to depict myself. I had put up my children's photographs and I had wrote about my families. I wrote about all the things which I had experienced in my life, the good and the bad.

A phone call on a fateful day, together with my sudden drop of page rank at my blogs had affected me. To prove that I am not making use of anybody and perhaps to add more credibility to my blogs, I had plucked up enough courage to put up my real photographs. All my photographs was compiled into a video, uploaded to YouTube, with the song November Rain.

Today, I was surprised that even with that, people can hardly believe that I am the owner of all the blogs that I had. The person asked me, "Do they all belong to you?" I was rather insulted. I signed up for the program, after an invitation from one of the staff (so-called staff). I had previously stumbled upon this site, but I did not sign up, for certain reasons. But since it had sent me an email again, I would like to give it a try. Little did I know that this is the kind of email reply I got.

After I had sent my replies to her, she replied,"We didn't expect so many blogs to belong to a blogger."

Do you know that for some months, LaoZharBo had been fooling her fans? At first, I thought she was so smart. I thought she wrote all the blog posts herself. Little did I know that it was all fake. After her real facts was disclosed, I had gone back to her blog a few times, but each time I went there, I had found something 'wrong'. The 'writer' had changed. The style of writing and the 'tone' of speech was different from the usual ones, before the disclosure. It is now more 'commercialized'. Who is the real person who is writing FOR LaoZharBo if she is writing on her behalf? Who is so free to write FOR another person unless the person is very close to her. I unlink to her blogs after this incident.

I do not need to explain much to people who do not believe me. Just now, I discovered something fun. It is The Bubblenator and I wanted to show another of my picture here. That was me at Cameron Highlands in 1994. How I wish I can visit the cool place again. Seeing is believing. The picture that you see above is uploaded from my PC and I get to add a bubble beside me. You can try it yourself. But in this internet world, any photographs can always be edited. Are you convinced that I, Peace Bella, is writing this blog (one of my blogs) now? I will add more pictures of myself to my sites when I have time. Time will tell, and I need not say more.

When you don't believe, evidence is all you need. When evidence is hard to believe also, only time will tell.
